Split hunk in stage view

Hello, is it possible to add the functionality for the staging process to split a 'hunk' in stage view, similar to $ git -p by pressing the option 's'?

An option would certainly be a clone of Mercurials crecord extension which is just so great i wonder how i could live without it until i was kind of forced into working with Mercurial. It shows hunks in a hierarchical (sort of pre-spliited) view and allows you to toggle on and off individual hunks, “sub-hunks”, and lines. So simple, yet incredibly powerful.
