Looking into this... contacted Georg/Ranier in case it is a bracket layer thing. Maybe be due to decomposition of components too... not sure. /V/F/l/i are correct here but all have same weight / width (using font-variation-settings: 'wght' and 'wdth'). Also width goes in reverse order, may be the culprit.. Lots of possibilities.

Ok, looked into it an it is indeed only affecting letters with a brace layer. Hoping there's a solution from Glyphs.

In the process of fixing it, may need to remove slant axis for now, discussion here: https://forum.glyphsapp.com/t/variable-font-and-braced-layers/5835/5

This is a bug in Glyphs, it is due to multi axis bracket layers. Rainer suggests trying a design space like this, so I think I have to modify the width values...

Tried this setup and it still failed. I do not think Glyphs supports variable fonts with two axes in addition to brace layers.

So it's a Glyphs bug but there is a fix which is adding these layers. I forget which glyph the above example is referring to, but if there is a {100,500}, for example, then it needs a corresponding {100,300} but that is it, the middle three should not be created since they are being interpolated anyway. if there is a {100,400}, then also do {100,300} and {100,500} though, etc.

I am color labeling pink on all glyphs that have the "fix" layers for now
