A "Getting Started" would be nice... #1

I agree I'd love to see some kind of user's guide, wiki or tutorial for using this gem which seems so amazing. I've seen it demo'd in a few talks I've watched online and I'm incredibly impressed. I haven't been able to find a user's group either. Really excited about using this gem but just a bit stalled out on where to get started with it. |
I just added a draft getting started guide to my fork (https://github.com/byteit101/JRubyFXML/blob/master/Getting%20Started.md) |
looks like you've been very busy @byteit101 . Awesome work, much appreciated! |
Thanks. This looks like just the starter I was looking for. Sent from my BlackBerry® PlayBook™ From: "byteit101" notifications@github.com I just added a draft getting started guide to my fork ( — |
Merged PR #6 so we now have a getting started guide. If you have additional suggestions for improving the guide or even better PR's to improve it then open up a new issue/pr for it. |
Dear folks,
This looks like it could be a useful project for folks trying to use JavaFX with JRuby for creating desktop GUI's. I'm guessing it's a little like MonkeyBars but for JavaFX rather than for straight Java Swing. However, as I am not a Java guru - and am only really just getting to grips with Ruby (let alone JRuby) it would be nice if the readme.md in this project had slightly more info/help than the Build section does right now.
