Found alongside the Unicomp Medical model M, this board had also seen some rain. I cracked it open and was surprised to see it's an old Cherry board.

I hosed off the rest of the muddy water and got it all disassembled. Fortunately it wasn't in the elements long enough to have any corrosion so it cleaned up nicely.

The PCB is a nice NKRO matrix with a monolithic controller. I messed around with the protocol a bit. It's inverted 5V serial that technically contains press/release codes but the way it was implemented did not want to play nicely with hardware UART.

The footprint of the controller compared to that of a Teensy++ 2.0 was too tempting to not do a full replacement. The Teensy has direct connection to the rows/cols so no trickery is needed. Soarer's Controller is able to manage the board perfectly.
