20220821 Wyse WY 30

In relatively great condition this board just needed a quick cleaning. It features the nice blue on grey doubleshot caps and Cherry MX Blacks that were ubiquitous on Wyse boards of this era. Everything was scrubbed and ultrasonic cleaned in soapy water. The switches were given a light lubing and I whipped up an internal Soarer's WyseVerter using a Teensy 2.0.

During disassembly I got a bit tired of holding the tiny metal switch opener I have. I grabbed an off cut of some nice hardwood oak, gave it a quick sanding, finished it with some Danish oil, added a cork foot, and screwed the opener to the top. It's much, much easier to use now. I highly recommend a similar setup to anyone using this style of opener.
