Figure 2: Redraw with boundaries of proposed WBR as a solid line #108
Comments
Seabilwe - this looks so much better - thank you, especially for the international reader being able to locate the WBR within the context of SA. I also prefer the fine provincial lines, exceCan the boundaries of the pting the thiness now causes a problem separating out Waterberg DC (= AOI) & Limpopo Provincial boundary. Perhaps easiest is to make all the provincial boundaries a bit thicker (if they are currently 0.5, then maybe as 1.0) & make the WDC boundary finer in the national picture of SA (but not in the offset - that is fine). Also, you may be right, but I thought the AOI was the WDC, & if there were farmm boundaries going into Lephalale or elsewhere outside of WDC boundary, then these were simply visually assessed. In other words, the "boundary" running almost due North thro Lephahale at the "apex" of the AOI is probably misleading, & we should simply restrict AOI to WDC - perhaps discuss with Gavin?? |
The AOI is not the WDM. As per description in the project report, we used the WDM plus several other layers including the existing WBR, important bird areas and particularly river catchments in determining the AOI. The original AOI included parts of NW Province and some other small extensions, however those were removed in the current version, keeping just Aganang LM (roughly). Blouberg is part of the AOI because it is Mogalakwena catchment and it happens to contain some WBR core area |
Agree re AOI, but still not clear why AOI line runs thro Blouberg (the heavy line running North-South. To my mind it complicates things ... |
@seabilwe maybe try to accentuate the AOI boundary and diminish the two LM boundaries |
Seabilwe - this comment is going to be copied into a number of maps - I will change my name to Mr Pedantic. |
Regarding the names of the NPs on the map, those are from the online basemap used for this map. So I cannot remove them, unless I use another basemap. Reading the other fixes, I will work on them. |
OK – the green writing on A4 looks like vleis anyway!! Can live with it!
