Usage Examples

Importing multiple bitmaps for animating:

  1. Import your JPEG, PNG and GIF images to the Library.
  2. Run Commands > Kick > Organise Library.
  3. Place your imported bitmaps on the stage where you want them.
  4. Select your bitmaps instances on the stage and run Commands > Kick > Wrap Bitmaps.
  5. Select your the instances of your newly wrapped bitmaps on the stage and run Commands > Kick > Name Instances.
  6. With the instances still selected run Modify > Timeline > Distribute to Layers.

Naming Conventions

Library symbols should be named in PascalCase. Some examples: MySymbol, BirdBitmap and Fish02.

Library symbols exported for ActionScript should be named with their full class name (including package): com.example.MyClass.

Instances on the stage are written in camelCase. This will normally be their symbol's name with the first character downcased: mySymbol, birdBitmap and fish02. If a symbol has been exported for ActionScript, just the class name (without the package) should be used: myClass.

Layers that contain only a single instance should be named after that instance: mySymbol, birdBitmap and fish02.
