Apparently it doesn't free memory quite as well as it says it does...

I've seen a lack of activity on this PR lately, did you finish it already? If not then do you still want to work on it? If not then I'll merge this PR onto a separate branch and work off of what we have so far |

I did not finish it, as I was really busy with other stuff. I am still planning to finish it, though. |
