Please make sure that driver is deployed in privileged SCC. This looks like a problem of SCC. |
@gnufied what changes we need to make in the vSphere CSI Driver deployment manifest files for this issue on the OpenShift environment? |
It seems the VMware Team who produced the vSphere Kubernetes Driver Operator have the solution. I just need to find a platform to test this on now.

What happened:
Unable to deploy on OpenShift 4.9 instance due to the following error in the DaemonSet of vsphere-csi-node.
What you expected to happen:
Deployment to work without any changes to manifests
How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible):
Deply OpenShift 4,9 and try mentioned versions.
CSI v2.2.0 works as expected
Anything else we need to know?:
Environment: OpenShift 4.9 on vSphere
