Media Servers

  • Plex - Media server with a full-featured library management and media player with a visually appealing user interface with client applications available for nearly every "smart" device.
  • Emby - Media aggregator plugin that takes your media and presents it in a simple, easy to use interface.
  • Jellyfin - An open source fork of Emby, can be a little rough around the edges in some areas however development is quite active and features an ever growing community. The number of clients offered compared to the likes of Plex is currently lacking, however it is slowly increasing.
  • Kodi - Open source media player and entertainment center with "skinnable" interface, can also serve as the frontend of a Plex, Emby or Jellyfin server with an appropriate addon.
  • Komga - An open source comic book media server with a built in web reader and OPDS catalog.
  • Calibre - A docker container of Calibre allowing for management and organization of your eBook collection.
  • Calibre Web - A nice web based front-end for your Calibre library with built in OPDS catalog, which features a comprehensive user access control system allowing you to limit books to certain suers based on their tags.

Plex Tools

  • Tautulli - A web app for monitoring, analytics, and notifications for Plex Media Server.
  • Overseerr - A recent but impressive web based application allow your Plex users to make requests for TV Shows and Movies with a role based approval system.
  • MovieMatch - A neat little web based application that lets you and other parties decide on what to watch together based on a Tinder like experience (swiping left or right).
  • Plex Auto Collections - Plex Auto Collections is a Python 3 script that works off a configuration file to create and update Plex collections automatically.

Finding Media

  • Sonarr - Monitors your favourite shows to grab, sort and rename them.
  • Radarr - A fork of Sonarr that is centered around movies, allowing you to monitor, grab and sort your favourite movies.
  • Readarr - A replacement for LazyLibrarier based on the Sonarr codebase, very early in development but usable.
  • Lidarr - Like Sonarr and Radarr but tailored specifically to music.
  • Mylar3 - A recent fork of the Mylar project, a little rough around the edges but an excellent automated source for comic books when configured correctly.
  • Bazarr - Another app in the *arr suite of products Bazarr allows for an automated method to obtain subtitles for your personal media collection.

TV Trackers

  • Trakt.tv - Keeps a record of what TV shows and movies you are watching, by scrobbling from Plex, Kodi or Emby.
  • TV Time - Tracks and notifies you of your TV shows with a simple approach to "on deck" shows and upcoming (Previously known as TVShow Time).

Mobile Apps

  • Lunasea - A very nice cross platform mobile application for managing and using Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr and various download managers on your mobile device.
  • nzb360 - A nice Android app that provides a nice way to manage various download clients along with Sonarr and Radarr on your Android device.
  • Infuse - An incredibly powerful and very nice to use video player for Apple devices (iOS, iPadOS, tvOS etc) which supports Plex, Emby and Jellyfin.
