FARMART E-COMMERCE WEB APP

Farmart is a user-friendly e-commerce platform for farmers and animal buyers to easily connect, transact, and expand their market reach online.

SETUP

Getting Started

To use the content on this repository, ensure you have the following:

  • A computer that runs on either of the following; (Windows 7+, Linux, Mac OS)

  • nodejs 9.0+

  • Ruby - 2.7.+

Installation

To use this repository on your machine requires some simple steps

Alternative One

  • Open a terminal / command line interface on your computer

  • Clone the repository by using the following:

    git clone git@github.com:levy-web/farmart.git
    

Alternative Two

  • On the top right corner of this page there is a button labelled Fork.

  • Click on that button to fork the repository to your own account.

  • Take on the process in Alternative One above.

  • Remember to replace your username when cloning.

      git clone https://github.com/your-username-here/farmart.git
    

Front-end

  • Change directory to the folder with the front-end code by copying this code to your terminal:

      cd frontend
    
  • (Optional) Open it in Visual Studio Code

      code .
    
  • (Alternate Option) Open it in any editor of your choice.

Running the application

To run the application, you can use the following steps:

  • Install required dependencies from npm using

    npm install
    
  • To run the application use

    npm start
    

Back-end

  • To navigate to the back-end folder, you need to move to the repository folder by using this command:

      cd ..
    
  • Then change to the back-end folder by using this code:

      cd backend
    

Running the application

To run the application, you can use the following steps

  • First install required dependencies using bundle

       bundle install 
    
  • Run the application on the terminal using this command to get the server running

      rails server -p 3001
    
  • Then navigate to (http://localhost:3001) on your browser or Postman to test out routes.
