Missing feature

An impact protection for the jogwheel.

Justification

My Mooltipass mini fell on the ground some days ago. Unfortunately, it fell on the jogwheel side. The wheel was destroyed, making the device unusable.

Workarounds

The round part of the lower case, just below the jogwheel, could be more protruding. Increasing its radius by some milimeters could provide a good impact protection for the wheel without compromising usability.

You're right. My device is broken as well.

Yep ! I'm not a 3D modeler so I can't provide a modified STL file. Can you / Do you know someone who could ? Thanks !

I've fixed my item with a glue. You can slightly open the case and get to the switch TS-005.
ts-005-big
There are two protrusions on the movable part of the switch (marked with red).
wheel_bottom_3_mark
There are two corresponding grooves on the lower part of the wheel.
I think you can even temporarily fix your item by pressing the wheel on top with a thin knife and slightly rotate the wheel right/left to combine the protrusions with the grooves.

And we need a some kind of silicone bumper of leather case for Mooltipass to protect the wheel of the switch. It would be nice if the wheel was glued to the switch when assembling the device at a factory.
Is it possible to use 3 buttons instead of the switch TS-005? It is more reliable.

Thank you for advice ! I tried matching the grooves in first instance but they were torn. I'm impressed with the gluing :-). Didn't dare doing that because I was afraid to lock the wheel. Will try tonight.
I also think 3 buttons are a better option, but this should be made in another request I guess.
Thanks !

As can I see, it's impossible to glue the wheel in a closed case. Most likely, the wheel will be locked.
Can we talk in private? Please send me an e-mail.

I have the same issue and i am agree @Irmo-kun, 3 buttons will be a better option.

I try to open my mooltipass, anyone has information how to do that without broke the screen.

Thanks

I would certainly prefer to have 3 buttons. I have three of these devices and two of them -- the ones I use most heavily -- over time develop some issues with the Jogwheel: they don't detect the direction of the rotation as reliable as the new one.

I don't mind the jogwheel but the implementation is not robust enough. My Mooltipass fell from the top of my pc on the wooden floor and the wheel just popped of.

Now after some exploratory emergency surgery i know that i could have used a needle/toothpick/paperclip to rotate what remained of the mechanism.

yup, we've changed models for the newer device... do you want a free replacement unit? :)

Oh yes that would be most welcome! Thank you!
