Add in an estimate of the number of ground rules from a rule.
Just a message in the log can really help people who have a program that is "hanging".

Make a warning if some threshold is surpassed.
Add in a config option that can disable this warning (for when you know your model will be large).

This issue will be easy once the new query rewriting infrastructure is in.

We have not been doing too much development on PSL recently.
You are free to go for it, but I don't think there will be too many people around to help.
