[ Upstream commit f0adbc3 ] The ast driver inherits from DRM's CRTC state, but still uses the atomic helper for struct drm_crtc_funcs.reset, drm_atomic_helper_crtc_reset(). The helper only allocates enough memory for the core CRTC state. That results in an out-ouf-bounds access when duplicating the initial CRTC state. I modifed suspend source commenting out all lines that disabling pll5 and enabling dram self-refresh mode to make suspend work on wexler tab 7200 (dram self-refresh seems to be broken on sunxi kernel in my configuration).
Now suspend works, but only first time. On second suspend it resumes after one second.
On 3.4.79 it helped to disable EXINT wake source end enabling wakeup by volume keys. Now same configuration does not work because sun4i_keyboard seems does not to send interrupt at all.
