[Feature request] "Restore to full opacity" feature should be optional

The feature mentioned in the title should be optional to a user. After all, I'm looking for possibility to disable the feature completely because, as an advanced computer user, I find randomly appearing transparent windows very annoying when jumping between different programs in Cinnamon.

Is there a option in cinnamon-settings to disable this transparency thing (A.K.A. "Restore to full opacity") by one click? At least there should be such option if it doesn't exist yet.

Windows shouldn't be 'randomly' becoming transparent in the first place. If it is, there could be a bug.

You can disable the titlebar action of adjusting opacity by going into Window settings->Action on titlebar with mouse scroll and changing it to something else or none.

Possibly try different window effect types for the different actions (like for mapping, change the effect to something else) or disable altogether.

I need to take my words back.

I've tried to find out the reason why transparent windows appear in the first place. With all respect, the appearance of transparent windows seems to be quite random to me. To repeat the event, I just need to click a minimized window on Cinnamon panel. A restored transparent window becomes visible to the desktop, with Cinnamon additionally suggesting "Restore to full opacity" for it. This happens sometimes and sometimes windows are simply restored normally without additional user activity required. Mouse scrolling is not necessary to reveal this strange window behaviour.

I've still not found a logical reason for this. More frequently I see Cinnamon suggesting restoration of window full opacity instead of restoring it without asking, more it seems a bug to me. It still may be just my Cinnamon settings but I'm not sure. To say about exploring the source of the problem, I'm not an expert investigating such issues in deep code level.

Using Cinnamon 2.2.16, Arch Linux.

As I said the first time, it could be a bug with desktop effects.

As a sure test, disable them entirely temporarily (Effects-> uncheck Enable Desktop Effects) - and see if the issues occurs.

I'm pretty certain there is a bug, I've experienced it once or twice, and I think one of the effect styles (EaseOutQuad, etc..) doesn't play well with opacity for whatever reason. You may try different effects.

If you haven't actually altered the individual effects settings since you were having this issue (other than disabling completely) would you mind posting a screenshot of that settings page? I want to figure out exactly what is causing this and fix if possible.
