Deprecated or Exploit?

From the VSCode Extension Store this extension shows as deprecated and links to another extension by the same name but with another developer. If I look at the web version of the extension, it does not say deprecated. Is this a weird quirk? A bug? A creative exploit by someone to steal data?

This is the official deprecation list, the project has been officially confirmed deprecated microsoft/vscode-discussions#1 (comment)

+1 for marking it in the readme, or archiving the repo. Not sure what negative implications archiving it may have, but at least having the README updated would help clear up which extension/repo to use. Have loved it btw and hope it does well in new maintainer's hands, thank you 🙏
