Textile Hub is shutting down

We’re sad to let the Hub go, but it was never meant to be a long-term solution for folks to build on.
It was meant to be an on-ramp for developers, and it no longer serves that purpose in a sustainable way.
As it turns out, centralized on-ramps tend to be sticky!

This repository is no longer active!

Textile Tools for Wordpress (WP Plugin)

An easy interface to IPFS, Libp2p and Filecoin from your Wordpress website using the Textile tools.

You can learn more about Textile from their official page: https://textile.io/

This plugin is what you need if you want to start using IPFS in a fast and easy way.

With our plugin you can upload files from your Wordpress website to IPFS (InterPlanetary File System). All this happens thanks to the tools created by Textile.

We developed a feature called "Archive: Static Site Generator". With this feature any wordpress admin can create a static copy of their posts and upload it to IPFS in just a few clicks.

Go beyond the limits imposed by your hosting provider. Try IPFS, Textile and our plugin!

Demo Textile Tools

Static sites hosted on a Textile Bucket

I uploaded my personal website to a Textile Bucket using our plugin as a Proof Of Concept. If you are a React or Angular developer, you can upload your website to a bucket and it will work as well as Amazon. I have to say that this is a very powerful plugin: https://bafzbeiahkt5dckzzsrxevmqof3e25vpv5di5rxo76p465574r7jitecei4.textile.space

You can host dApps on Textile buckets as well

If you are a blockchain developer I'm pretty sure that you will find very useful the potential to host static websites on Textile Buckets to connect to decentralized services, like the Ethereum blockchain. Please check this demo of a Vending Machine dApp for a POC: https://bafzbeiepgv3dzvvnvj2vgfjodgctjlypdixz6yxefkzbuonlevstjvq7cu.textile.space/

Installing:

You can install our plugin as any other Wordpress plugin.

  • Option 1: Find our plugin and install it directly from your admin panel in the WordPress plugin directory. This is the best method to get the plugin working. Search for "Textile tools" in the plugin directory

  • Option 2: Go to our official website in the WordPress Plugin Directory and download a copy if you want to install the plugin manually: https://wordpress.org/plugins/textile-tools/

  • Option 3 (Experimental) Alternatively, download a copy of this repository if you want to try the latest but unstable version of the plugin.

  • Once the plugin has installed succesfully click on "Activate plugin" Step 4

  • Once installed and activated, the plugin will appear on the main menu, under the "Plugins" section. Just go to the menu "Textile Plugin" and start exploring the plugin. Step 5

  • The first time that you get into the "Textile plugin" panel, you will find a form with two fields called API KEY and API SECRET.

  1. If you are new to Textile Tools please take some time to read how to install the Hub. The Hub is the best way to start using Textile Tools: https://docs.textile.io/hub/
  2. If you already have the Hub installed, please take a time to read how works Roles, Quotas and how to create an account: https://docs.textile.io/hub/accounts/
  3. Please follow the instructions on the next link to know how to create your API KEYS (HINT: We suggest you to create "Account keys"): https://docs.textile.io/hub/apis/#api-keys

-Finally, fill the main form with your credentials. Step 6

NOTE: Remember to SAVE YOUR SETTINGS when you finished.

And that's it. You are ready to play with IPFS from your Wordpress website.
