randomQgen is an online tool to generate random PDFs from question sets that you provide in order to mitigate the issue of students adopting unfair means in exams using Chegg, CourseHero or other online platforms. Read about the motivation here.

Current features:

  • Generate random PDFs from question sets (questions can be single page or multi-page)
  • Able to assign unique footer at the end of each page in the generated PDFs (right now, the format is fixed)

Future work:

  • Add authentication
  • Save the zip files for a certain period of time if the user is authenticated when generating them
  • Offer more footer formats
  • Visualizing the output

This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.

Getting Started for development

First, run the development server:

npm run dev
# or
yarn dev

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying pages/index.js. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

API routes can be accessed on http://localhost:3000/api/hello. This endpoint can be edited in pages/api/hello.js.

The pages/api directory is mapped to /api/*. Files in this directory are treated as API routes instead of React pages.
