Tine 0.8.0 is out. It is the Beta line from the last weeks made stable, so your settings, graphs and sessions carry over from 0.7.x. This is not the changelog, just what I think matters most.
1. Saving you don't have to think about. Each graph now has one background saver: every edit is saved as you type, from any window, and keeps saving after the page closes. If a file changes on disk while you have unsaved text, you get a block-by-block comparison; unsaved text survives a crash and is put back on its page at the next start.
2. Capture from your phone. Android: Tine is in the share sheet, the launcher icon offers Today, Quick capture and Search, and there is a Quick capture Quick Settings tile. iOS: a share extension and Shortcuts actions (Add to Tine journal, Search Tine, Open page), currently in the TestFlight build. Shared items land at the bottom of today's journal.
3. A command line (Linux and macOS).
tinecan read pages, journals, blocks and linked references, search, run queries and list pages, with text or--jsonoutput. It does not edit notes. See the Command line page in the Guide.4. Simplified Chinese. Settings → Appearance → Language offers English and 简体中文, applied live in every window. Chinese input works better too: (( becomes (()) and opens block search, and shortcuts work on non-Latin keyboard layouts.
5. You choose what today's journal shows. Hover today's journal and choose Customize today's sections… to create a Journal sections page; its query blocks decide what appears under today. Upcoming is off by default; add
{{upcoming}}to that page to bring it back.6. Queries that behave. Query blocks rest with a title, a count and results and edit in place. Common Logseq advanced queries are translated automatically, and
config.ednjournal queries are honored.7. Smaller things you asked for. Page icons (an emoji in an
icon::property shows on the title, links and favorites), an All pages view that stays quick on very large graphs, Find in page with replace, a portable Windows ZIP that keeps all its data in a folder next toTine.exe, and a new Soft theme palette.Get it. Update in the app (Settings shows when a new version is out), or download from https://tine.page or the release: https://github.com/martinkoutecky/tine/releases/tag/v0.8.0. Linux (AppImage, deb, rpm, Flatpak file), macOS (dmg, or
brew install --cask tine), Windows (installer or portable ZIP) and an Android APK are there; Android is also on F-Droid (once it gets there). Guide: in the app, Help.
