Just my thoughts from my design hat:

There is something about the current logo that makes me feel polarized and radical. I don't know if I should feel positive or negative about it.

However, when I look at these other logos, I feel very American and positively proud of my country. I feel like that is what's missing from the logo.

I feel like something needs to be done to give a more american positive vibe.

Go back to red white and blue, its home and feels natural. There's a site called Criticue where people will provide feedback on your design, might be of help?

Personally, I think its time you hired a branding expert.
