Pitch

have an easy access to "pinned"/saved hashtags in the right side menu for the simple layout
2019-06-16-03-04-07
like this

Motivation

in the advance layout you can pin many hashtags which makes it convenient when looking for content on things you are interested in. but in the simple layout you need to search for each one individually.
it would be nice to pin/save hashtags to a menu and not needing to type them out each time.

This sounds like it might be solved, perhaps in a more generic way, by #7692.

Stalebot no, saved hashtags accessible in the simple layout would be awesome.

Currently, followed tags is on desktop hidden behind a hamburger menu, and absolutely nowhere to be found on mobile. This is a crazy amount of friction for such a core part of getting content on Mastodon!

So yes, please let's add this. It's so easy to add, and it'd be one less thing in the hamburger menu, making it easier to do #23355.

'Explore' is already using the hashtag icon so Explore needs a new icon. The Material Icon explore seems logical to me: explore_FILL0_wght400_GRAD0_opsz24 (edit: seems like the devs agree :) #29294 )
