OK, sounds good to me (I hope to release v4.2 in about a week anyway with GitHub integration), so timing is good for me! :)

Let me know your plans for how you're setting up the language pack?

(My thoughts were to create a 'lang' folder and inside have lang_ch.php, lang_en.php etc that contains all language text items in an array. Then use those array items throughout ICEcoder as placeholders? Is this your thought also?)

Maybe a quick demo on 2-3 text items to show your thoughts before you do them all?

Glad to hear we are thinking of the same thing.

Probably best thing is if you can commit a simple demo to your repo, let me know and I will have a look there?

The Google page says:

So, to help in this effort, I'll be giving an ICEcoder goodie bag (containing a: tshirt, pen, USB key, sticker and keyring) to the next 3 GitHub listed issues that are covered (those with a 'feature' or 'tweak' label).

The plan is, build a feature or tweak, get a goodie bag!

Process to qualify:
1. Firstly, put your name against an issue in a comment, eg 'Hey, I'll cover this!'
2. Code the feature or tweak and put in a pull request
3. Be one of the first 3 to have their code pulled

Re pulling the code, I will only do this when I'm fully happy with it. I won't be rushing to pull in shoddy code so you can get your goodie bag, I must be happy with what you've written and changes may be needed if I'm not. If it's a fairly big issue to cover, you may also want to discuss plans with me first to avoid wasting time.

May as well get some ICEcoder gifts for your hard work! :)

to quickly start the French translation, you can email me (kris at xoofoo.org) the file(s) to be translated - among my friends, I'll see if I can not find translators for other languages

Instead of this file, can we just add a new setting to your user setting file. You likely have a lib/config-localhost.php file or lib/config-SOMETHING.php? If so, you can add a new setting there, eg:

We can then update the settings screen to allow users to change language easily.

Have just committed some changes that provide the setup for multi-languages and also covered the top level root files (editor.php, index.php etc) plus /lib/login.php.

This means that at least the top level framework supports multiple languages. Think it's worthwhile setting up Chinese and French translations at this point to see what problems (if any) it causes, and if this is worth pursuing (am sure it is, but want to check).

To create a new language:

• * Copy the /lang/english.php file and name as per your language.
• * Open and complete translations on right side of each row (after reading notes at top, adding your name etc).
• * Once done, open /lib/settings.php and change line 43 to your language filename.
• * Reload ICEcoder and see your language.

Hope that sounds good and thanks again for helping. If this test works well, I'll cover the rest of the site and ask if you can help with the remainder of items.
