  beagle bone black logic analyzer for sigrok

bbblasr
~~~~~~~
Currently nothing more than some C code running bare metal on a beagle bone
black.
This may or may not become a logic analyzer based on the two PRU engines in
the TI SoC AM355x which is the core of the beaglebone black.
The two PRUs run at 200MHz and are able to read a GPIO pin per cycle.
A second personal goal of this is to program a modern SoC from ground up
not using any existing software framework or stack. On the way I prefer
to pick all the interesting fruits, not exactly always the low hanging
fruits...
For now:
This code is interrupt driven.
There's a serial console on UART0, so probably you want to connect some
USB 3v3 UART cable to the bbb J1 UART connector.
There's a GPIO interrupt handler for pushbutton S2.
The PRUs blink some LEDs by accessing the mmaped registers of the ARM.
Each PRU can raise ARM host interrupts and has its own interrupt handler.
prerequisites
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- ARM cross toolchain (or you compile e.g. on linux on the bbb itself,
  which I never did). Mine is called arm-linux-gnueabihf-
  see the Makefile for details
- pasm, the PRU assembler.
- mkimage, the u-boot image packer

building
~~~~~~~~
make clean && make
booting
~~~~~~~

usually/likely you may want to boot from u-boot, e.g.:

setenv serverip 192.168.1.4
setenv ipaddr   192.168.1.244
tftpboot 80000000 bbblasr.bin
go 0x80000000

but there are many ways to boot, like SD-card, USB, eMMC, ...

modes
~~~~~
different LA operational modes I can think of
- stream: sample 2x16 pins, transfer to ARM, IRQ, ethernet
- one shot: (trigger) sample 8kB @ highest rate, inform ARM
- deserializer
