Reason for the Change

This is the draft preparing the changes for Picard 2.7 currently in development.

Documentation changes aiming for Picard 2.7 should have a merge request to merge into the next_version_2.7 branch.

Required updates

The following changes need to be done to reflect changes in Picard 2.7. This list should be updated as required.

I rebased this on my latest changes to master. I don't think I screwed anything up, other than I left out my commit with the French translation changes because of conflicts. I'll do the translation changes in another commit later when things have stabilized a bit.

Yes, I agree that is better. Let's update the translations in one go. I guess now there might be one or another small correction to the 2.6 docs, but all bigger changes should go into 2.7 anyway.

If you remember, can you please try to give me a couple of days notice before the first 2.7 release so I can update all the translations? If not, it's not the end of the world to have the translations lag a day or two. Thanks.

Yes, will do. Currently we expect this release cycle to take longer than previously due to larger changes (such as the file naming dialog) and not too much time at hand really. Also current 2.6.2 is pretty stable, so we currently have no pressure releasing.

Rebased against master branch. Reverted all conflicts in translation files to match master. Will need to regenerate the *.pot files once merged and re-enter the translations (using Weblate).
