Welcome to the MICADO wiki!

Welcome! MICADO has been an EU-funded project (Horizon 2020 programme) running over 3,5 years (Jan 2019-June 2022) addressing the integration of migrants into European cities with the support of ICT solutions. For more information visit our website, follow us on Twitter, or read our About-Page.

This MICADO Wiki serves as a common repository for all kind of project-related data as well as keeping track of the consortium-wide agreements regarding the joint work. The Wiki represents a consolidated documentation of the state of the project.

Why this page?

In transdisciplinary projects like MICADO, one major challenge is the communication, feedback and exchange between social sciences and IT. The cooperation of disciplines ensures that the ICT solutions developed throughout the project reflect the needs and expectations of the end-users.

  • A factor supporting the collaboration, as outlined by Net4Society in their report on success stories in socio-economic sciences and humanities integration into technological innovation, is an active involvement of all partners from the beginning and throughout the project phases. Please consult the page on collaboration conventions to find out how to do this.
  • In the research with humans, especially possibly vulnerable groups, special awareness should be paid to the way communication can express power relations, can exclude or include. Therefore, we have created the page Communication Conventions to address these issues.
  • A factor hampering transdisciplinarity is the different terminology within social sciences and technological development. Therefore the Wiki page Glossary was set up. On this page you will find information on a variety of terminology used both in social sciences and technical development - you will also find information on which terms not to use. Please read thoroughly, the page will be updated continuously.
