📝 What would be awesome would be if I could have overlapping zones and choose which to drop the window into.

For example. I could have zones that divide the screen in to left and right. I could overlap that with zones with Left, Middle and Right. When I drag over a multiple zone and drop it then allows me to flip through the overlapping zones choosing whichever I am after. This could be done by the same zone highlighting effect, just trapped within only overlapping zones

What is the expected behavior of the proposed feature? What is the scenario this would be used?

Assuming a 2 setup : Left = 2L Right=2R (each 1/2 of width)
overlapping 3 setup: Left 3L Middle=3M and Right 3R. (assume each is 1/3 of width though could be odd sized)

These are all different zones however 2L would be overlapped by 3L and 3M

I may want to work on two apps at once. I drop one in 2L Depending where I drop I would be offered the choice between 2L or (3L/3M) I choose 2L. Similar with the second app but I would get a choice between (2R and (3M/3R) and take the 2R.

If I was looking to display 3 windows I could just pick 3L, then 3M and then 3R etc.

Potentially you could overlap as many as you like however the more you overlapped the more choices you would have to make. These would be visual highlighting the shapes as you scroll through. You could utilise the scroll wheel for this choice .

please add you comment to #1167

Also, have you consider using 4 zones and snap to 1&2 or 3&4 when you want to have just two windows covering the entire screen?
