Hey guys

I would like to know if it is possible in any way to run Blender through WSL? I have tried Xming now, which usually works with gedit/paraview etc., but it just won't open with Blender.

I would like to know if anyone has been able to circumvent this issue, so I don't have install a Ubuntu image or what it is called. When I try to do it right now I get the following error:

Received X11 Error: error code: 1 request code: 143 minor code: 34 error text: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)

Kind regards

It is, #2764. You'll get more eyeballs on (and more informed answers about) X11 errors in forums dedicated to your X server of choice (here Xming) and the client application in question (here Blender).

I suspect in this particular instance (Blender), you'll likely find the pervading answer in such forums would be to run the Windows version.

Thanks! Seems to be a lot of steps for now unfortunately, would probably be smarter to forget about WSL for this use case.. Looking into cross compiling for now, but thanks once again!

Kind regards
