The installed extensions are gone, and the panel is showing empty. #168656

I had the same issue but I fixed mine by checking the extensions.json file and found that the folder name was changed (mistake from my end). I fixed the path and the installed extensions worked. |

Please open the extension installation folder using the command
@ajbaabf I assume you are talking about the same file I mentioned above. If so, can you please explain what have you done to get it fixed for yourself? May I also know, what are the contents of that file before fixing it? |
Could be a duplicate of #168703 May I know if the extensions views/sections are collapsed? Can you please do following and let me know if it worked?

Thank you, it worked, but as soon as I close the VS Code and relaunch it, the extensions' panel shows empty, and I should do the steps above to see the extensions. |

After updating to version 1.74.0, the installed extensions disappear whenever I launch the VS Code, and the panel shows empty.
OS: macOS Monterey 12.6.1
VS Code: 1.74.0
