Support guest's iPod #5988

Commented by: rryan Basically that code was never finished but it was from before our development process required features to be finished and code reviewed before merging into trunk. So it's essentially dead code now and should be removed. I think libgpod has come a long way since that feature was written and doing it today would be fairly easy. |
Commented by: rryan Can we mark this a WontFix? |
Commented by: Be-ing If someone really wants to implement this, I wouldn't be opposed to it. However, I don't think it is important since iPods have largely been replaced by online streaming on smartphones nowadays. I'd be in favor of closing this as WontFix to make a dent in the huge amount of open bugs. |

It would be nice if Mixxx could play songs directly from an iPod provided by a guest on private parties.
I have made some successful tests with libgpod.
There is an orphaned iPod section in the scons scripts. What was the reason to remove the iPod support from Mixxx?
What are the obstacles we must expect?
