Just one note: it's "summer" only in the northern hemisphere, and "vacation", well, not sure in which countries this 'summer' is actually a vacation period besides europe and the US? |
Hi ronso0, |
No problem, just saying.. Might feel exclusive for folks in other regions. |
Would it be nicer/completer if I add 'Mixxx sends summer-vibes all over the world" |

thank you!
I made some small typo / language notes. I think it would be fun to lean in to the Olympics metaphor but that's optional

Our marathon stem project is fantastic, a tip of the veil:
Playing with stems changes the whole idea of DJ-ing. If stems are new for you I would like to invite you to do some research. |

at the moment there are a lot of demo-videos created by commercial DJ-Software creators that explain very well what stems are, and how they can be used. Last week there was a release of T4 with nice video's, I imagine a lot of people have seen them. It feels a little odd to link to T not?
While your enjoying a well deserved vacation the Mixxx team is preparing new features.
Not all new features are already for bundling in an official release but you can find everything about them in the partie venues.

The new visual aids for key and bpm will be astonishing, it needed quite some adaptations but the project is in pole position for gold. |

you are mixing the festival metaphor with the olympics... I would suggest using just one metaphor, probably the festival one since that's the way you started. But I could also see a fun rewrite with all-olympics references!

Looking good! :)
@acolombier
I have those history commits again, you managed to remove them last time, can you do that again please?
Can you check what I wrote?
Sure, do you still me to do something? I can squash the commits when you are ready?

Remark: The quality of the stems is of course very important, a lot of stem creators are showing up everywhere.
Some need you to upload your original file, some can use your GPU, some use well trained AI models, others don't.
On Zulip I wrote a report about my quest for stems. |

Maybe a more general question, but do we want to encourage Mixxx user to join Zulip, or shall we reserve the space for contributor? My choice of words is probably very poor, but what I mean by that is, what should be the central place for the community? Is is the Discourse group or Zulip?
If Zulip's target is every user of Mixxx, then I would suggest adding a link to the thread directly! Many people still don't know what Zulip is, that we have one for Mixxx and how to use it (even got some people messaging me directly there, asking me what was that all about and how to use it). I know Zulip also requires authentication to view threads, unlike Discourse.
Note that's I'm also asking because I've linked Zulip in my WIP STEM announcement and would like to confirm this appropriated! :)

Didn't every contributor start as a user? How can a possible contributer inform him/her/themself, we write everywhere that more info can be found on Wiki & Zulip, mapping-questions can be posed on discourse en bugs/features on github.
I didn't link my post on Zulip, I encourage people to discover it.

We always had the forum for user related topics and for sharing mappings. The benefit is the read only access an the indexing by Search Engines (is that still the case?)
Zulip is the successor of our developers mailing list.
That`s not carved in stone though. At least for support questions the forum is the first address.

It's great. Thank you :)
fyi, we merged without pre-commit passing. lets pay more attention to that next time. |
also a 77 commit blogpost PR deserves to get squashed before merging... |
pre-commit was run on my px before push. Thank you. |
Yeah, the problem was that its not run when you use the "accept suggestion" feature. In that case you'll need to run it manually because it is only run on the commit your currently creating. Anyways, its not your fault, rather we should've paid proper attention to the CI feedback before pressing merge. Just wanted to mention it. I also already fixed it directly in the target branch. |
I learned something new, thank you |
