Edges of buttons with shrink animation don't work #641

Describe the bug

Buttons shrink on mousedown so if the mouse is right on the edge of the button the mouse will no longer be over the button when the click event occurs.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Carefully hover the mouse over the edge of any button with a shrink animation
  2. Click and observe that the animation occurs but the button does not perform its function

Expected behavior

No response

Additional context

Almost certainly the cause for #377 and #639
