Is there any documentation, threads or anything that highlights what the difference between the original discuss and discuss2 is?

Am about to pick up setting up a modmore support forum again soon and am wondering wether to stick with the original Discuss or to scratch that and go with Discuss2. Any info on what's up with discuss2 would be a great help, otherwise I'll have to dig into the code and compare it manually.

Hi Mark,

I think the biggest missing item is the user guide to theming. Petri had done a ton of code optimizations, so D2 should scale significantly better. Sorry there's not much more to relay … maybe you could give him a gentle nudge for more guidance since he's a speaker at the MODX weekend!

Hmmm just going through the schema, it looks like threads and posts are resources now? That's an interesting design decision... it does mean v1 and v2 are not compatible at all, which is good to know though not a blocker for my specific use case as there's no data yet :P I'm not sure if storing stuff as a resource is better (but haven't done any testing yet so can't judge) but it's important to know, I guess.

Gently nudging @the-dunnock... any thoughts? ;)
