NArray: NMatrix-compatible fork

Description

NArray is the Ruby array library that inspired SciRuby’s {NMatrix}[http://github.com/SciRuby/nmatrix].It was written by Masahiro Tanaka.

This version is an NMatrix-compatible fork. It can be used just like regular NArray – except when you’re trying to use it with NMatrix. See below for details.

FFTW does not currently work with SciRuby’s nmatrix gem. If you’d like it to work, send an email our way.

Note that this is not Masahiro Tanaka’s original README file. Please see README.en for English and README.ja for Japanese.

Installation

To install:

gem install narray-nmatrix --pre

Note that you have to have the pre-release flag on there or gem won’t be able to find it.

Documentation

Please see the NArray Rubyforge page for NArray documentation.

Using without SciRuby’s NMatrix

Just like normal:

require 'narray'

Using with SciRuby’s NMatrix

Do not require as above. Instead, try this:

require 'narray/narray'
require 'nmatrix'

This preserves the NArray submodules NMath, NArrayScalar, NMatrix, NMatrixLU, and NVector inside of the NArray

namespace. Basically, anytime those appear in your code, just add NArray

in front.

NArray::NMatrix   # NArray's NMatrix class
NMatrix # SciRuby's NMatrix class

Easy!
