hop was built for AWS: it finds any EC2 instance across all your AWS profiles and opens
a Session Manager shell by name, IP or ID.
Version 0.3.0 adds experimental GCP support. With
gcp_projects: ["*"]in hop'sconfig:
hop lsand the search also list the Compute Engine instances of every project yourgcloud account can see, as
gcp:<project>, in their zone;hop <name>opens a shell through IAP (gcloud compute ssh --tunnel-through-iap),after checking that the instance is still the one listed.
It is not at the level of AWS yet:
run, tunnel, pushand ssh by name (ssh user@name.hop) are AWS only. On a GCPinstance, hop prints the gcloud command that does it instead.
Azure is not supported. Searching would be easy (Azure Resource Graph covers every
subscription), but connecting depends on each setup: Bastion, a public IP or a VPN. So
I'd rather hear from people who need it first.
If you use GCP or Azure, a comment here helps a lot:
A thumbs-up on this post counts too. The answers decide what comes next.
