In the near-term we want to support a pref on Nightly to enable loading arbitrary extensions. We are still investigating options for enabling greater add-on support on the release channel.

Dependencies:

  • Build pref
  • Update WebExtensions API compatibility tables for Fenix
  • Update testing instructions on Firefox Extension Workshop
  • Publish FAQs for add-on developers

Nice to have, but not a dependency:

General FAQs about add-on support in Fenix can be found here.

Updates about add-on support in Fenix will be posted to the Add-ons Blog.

The override is now available on Firefox for Android Nightly.
