What is it?

An App written in Django and React to help a user manage a personal bucketlist You can test the app here

This API is currently at Version 1.0 (the first version).

Installation

Clone the repo

git clone https://github.com/andela-akiura/yolo.git

Navigate to the root folder

cd yolo-bucketlist

Install the necessary packages


pip install -r requirements.txt

Perform migrations

python manage.py makemigrations
python manage.py migrate

Testing

To run the tests for the app, and see the coverage, run

python manage.py test

REST API

Yolo has a RESTful Application Program Interface (API)

Yolo's resources

The API resources are accessible at localhost:8000/api/v1/. They include:

/api/v1.0/auth/register/ POST User registration
/api/v1.0/auth/login/ POST User login
/api/v1.0/bucketlists/ GET, POST A user's bucket lists
/api/v1.0/bucketlists/<id>/ GET, PUT, DELETE A single bucket list
/api/v1.0/bucketlists/<id>/items/ GET, POST Items in a bucket list
GET /api/v1.0/bucketlists/<id>/items/<item_id>/ GET, PUT, DELETE A single bucket list item
Method Description
GET Retrieves a resource(s)
POST Creates a new resource
PUT Updates an existing resource
DELETE Deletes an existing resource

Sample requests

Before making requests, make sure the server is running by running python manage.py runserver. Open a new terminal and navigate to the bucketlist directory like before.

A sample request to register a new user with the username djbot Run
