syncr

Syncr is a script for making rsync easier.

It will prompt you for all the necessary information, assemble the rsync call, and execute it.

It also provides the ability to save the specified settings to a .syncr file in the source directory, allowing you to bypass all the questions next time. (At the moment this is limited to local source directories. Remote SSH directories are not yet supported.)

Supported options:

  • Source
  • Destination
  • Timestamp preservation
  • Owner and group preservation
  • Permission preservation
  • Executability preservation
  • Exclude certain files (uses list in provided excludes.txt)
  • Delete destination files that aren't in the source
  • Run as super user (sudo)
  • Save settings to a .syncr file in the source directory.
  • Preview the rsync command before executing

Example command usage:

>> syncr
Source (include trailing slash): [./]
Destination (no trailing slash): ./test
