Per mui/material-ui#40958 (comment), It's safe to say that IE 11 will be entirely gone from Material UI v6, so it makes sense for MUI X too. This is simpler to reason with and a bit smaller in bundle size. In terms of timing, it could be as early as MUI X v7, we started to rely on https://caniuse.com/?search=sticky in #10059 so 😄
There are examples in the Material UI repository to why IE 11 is no longer relevant, e.g. Ant Design removed it a long time ago. For closer comparison to MUI X, you can find AG Grid, support removal released early 2022: https://blog.ag-grid.com/whats-new-in-ag-grid-27/.
