I don't think this is a viable option, considering how fast the games go anyways. Plus people who play enough and have advance IRC clients will just script this for themselves.

Wow, this is old... but I really consider that a very big part of the game experience when playing IRL. And sure, you can script it... but if you want to cheat, that's your choice. And it can be banned.

It would be difficult to prove that someone is cheating. While I do agree it is a huge IRL feature, I don't think it translates well into an IRC version of it.

"difficult to prove that someone is cheating" is the case in many other
situations, too. That's not, IMHO, a reason to not implement it as an
option.

That is a valid point, but I don't think it should be a required feature to play the game for everybody.

So make it configurable? (is it used by anyone else?)

Ah, I'd be up for doing something like that: where other forks of jenni could easily set an option in default.py to make the uno game require the person calling "UNO" to win the game.

And don't forget to penalize those who don't (extra cards, not just "you
don't win")
