Fluid Aspect Course 4.5: Network Solver Config

These are the network solver configuration data items. These are the properties of the network container object in the drawing:

convergenceTolerance

  • Not used by fluid networks, so you can leave this alone.

minLinearizationP

  • Fluid conductors linearize a non-linear flow equation as part of their normal operation. This value sets the minimum delta-potential across the link at which the link will apply the linearization. At delta-pressures smaller than this value, the link will drop to a purely linear relationship, which is not always accurate.
  • Pick a value that is less than the minimum delta-pressure across all conductors that you want to simulate, in units of (kPa). A value of 1e-6 (kPa) is usually a safe guess.

minorStepLimit

  • Not used by fluid networks, so you can leave this alone.

decompositionLimit

  • Not used by fluid networks, so you can leave this alone.
