A Quantum Plugin for an OpenFlow enabled Network.
The Quantum NEC OpenFlow Plugin maps L2 logical networks on Quantum to L2 networks virtualized on an OpenFlow enabled network. An OpenFlow Controller (OFC) provides L2 network isolation without VLAN, and this plugin controls the OFC through Sliceable Network Management (REST) API.
Sliceable Network Management API is an OpenFlow Northbound API to provide an interface for managing virtual layer-2 network slices on OpenFlow and available at https://github.com/trema/apps/wiki/Sliceable-Network-Management-API. Two OFC implementations support this API for now:
- Trema with Trema App - Sliceable Switch (OSS)
- ProgrammableFlow Controller with REST API (NEC Commercial Product)
- Proposed for Folsom : NEC OpenFlow Plugin Proposal for Folsom
- Essex : Plugin for Essex release of OpenStack.
- Diablo : Plugin for Diablo release of OpenStack.
- DiabloFilter : Diablo version of Plugin with Security filter enhancement.
