Full-Stack Engineer

Aryeo's mission is to empower real estate photographers and estate agents with innovative tools to streamline their workflows and enhance property marketing. As a Full-Stack Engineer, I primarily focus on front-end development to create a seamless and visually appealing user experience. My day-to-day work includes maintaining Aryeo's design system and implementing features across the stack. Some key aspects of my role and achievements at Aryeo include:
- Played a pivotal role as the 5th engineer hired and contributed to the team that supported Aryeo's successful $35,000,000 acquisition by Zillow.
- Developing and maintaining the entire standalone design system in Vue3 and Tailwind CSS.
- Designing and developing various templates for property websites.
- Implementing SEO strategies to boost organic traffic and enhance property listings' visibility.
- Introducing white-labeling functionality to personalize the Aryeo application for estate agents.
- Continuously improving the user experience and accessibility for photographers and estate agents using Vue, Tailwind CSS, and other relevant technologies.
Front-End Engineer
August 2018 - December 2020
Working as part of a Scrum product team developing a Vue and Laravel powered web application to help employers manage their workforces scheduling, payroll, and HR. Day-to-day duties included cross squad implementation planning, building new features with concise, performant, unit-tested code, and ensuring the ongoing stability of the product.
- Developed responsive pages and components from design comps and integrated them with Spur's REST API using Vue and Tailwind CSS.
- Collaborated with the Front-end team to transition the entire product to a componentized design system built with Storybook.
- Migrated from manual to automated testing using the end-to-end testing framework Cypress to reduce regression testing times.
- Sole developer of the Spur corporate website powered by Nuxt.js and the styling framework Tailwind CSS, working closely with an external digital marketing agency to improve user engagement and conversions.
Front-End Developer

Duties ranged from designing products, implementing designs responsively, integrating with various CMS platforms, and monitoring user behavior to inform design iterations.
- Set up front-end tooling with gulp.js and webpack to support building SASS components, JS modules, and SVG sprite sheets.
- Introduced and managed continuous integration for various projects, allowing for auto-deployment.
- Implemented JavaScript integration tests as part of the deployment process for several projects.
- Integrated responsive templates with the WordPress CMS, using custom post types, custom taxonomies, Timber, and the Advanced Custom Fields plugin.
- Conducted UX research and testing using various platforms and techniques, including Google Analytics, Hotjar, and A/B testing.
Front-End Web Developer

Day-to-day activities included building websites from provided design mockups and integrating them with a CMS, managing client expectations, and supervising the development side of the project life cycle. Other skills and duties include:
- Set up front-end tooling with gulp.js to support building SASS components, JS modules, and SVG sprite sheets.
- Converted the front-end of several existing client websites into responsive solutions using Sass and following a combination of BEM, OOCSS, and ITCSS methodologies.
- Developed numerous responsive websites and web applications from design mockups (PSD/AI/Sketch).
- Created HTML emails for both the Campaign Monitor and MailChimp platforms, as well as transactional emails for CMS integration.

Operated as a freelance web developer, building content-managed websites for small businesses on a national basis. This work consisted predominantly of creating bespoke themes on the WordPress platform using CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Additional work included sourcing and managing clients, estimating builds, designing to client requirements, managing hosting, and providing ongoing support.
