What's the difference between CC0 and public domain? #48
Comments
Good point. I will be looking at the list organisation over the next few days so I will bear this in mind. I initially separated the two because one was a more formal approach than the other. If anyone has any input on this I'm all ears. |
Also FWIW, the SpaceX Photos are released under CC0 but are categorized as public domain on this list. |
Thanks for the heads up. I'll get this sorted ASAP |
I've decided to keep the separation as it is for now. I think having the license free images separate is important as to not have any ambiguity. |
* hotfix/0.2.1: added descriptions to the Vector Graphics section. ref #16 added descriptions to videos section. ref #16 added descriptions to the Unspecified License section. resolves #48 Added alana.io to CC0-license list. resolves #52 Added ISO Republic Put Freepik in a new Vector Graphics section Add Freepik and Flaticon
From the Creative Commons CC0 info page:
So, functionally, what's the difference between a work explicitly licensed with CC0 and a work "free of known copyright restrictions"?
Should the two categories be merged, or is it worth keeping the distinction?
