Releases: ngld/OverlayPlugin
OverlayPlugin 0.18.2
This release contains further fixes for FFXIV 6.1. It also attempts to fix the Newtonsoft.Json error which usually leads to a TypeLoadException
mentioning get_EventSourceConfigs
. If you (or your friends) don't get this update in ACT itself, go to the Plugins tab, click the Get Plugins
button and select OverlayPlugin. This will update OverlayPlugin and once you restart ACT it'll automatically load the fixed version. If the error still persists, check ACT's Notifications tab and if it complains about files not belonging in the ACT folder, find and delete them. As always, if you need further assistance, join the FFXIV ACT Discord (link at the bottom).
- Fix combat detection to restore pre 6.1 behavior. After 6.1, it caused ACT to reset encounters on death and some other situations. (thanks @quisquous, #253)
- Fix memory offsets for target ID and effects (thanks @qitana, #252)
Please let me know if you find any bugs, either here or on the FFXIV ACT Discord.

OverlayPlugin 0.18.1
IMPORTANT: This does not fix the parser. You still need an updated FFXIV plugin to use ACT with FFXIV 6.1.
This update fixes the memory signatures for FFXIV 6.1 (thanks @quisquous!) and contains a few smaller fixes.
- Each overlay now has a
Clear Cache
button. - WebSocket connections are now always cleaned up.
EffectiveDistance
in theEnmityTargetData
event is now more precise. (#249, thanks @quisquous)- Updated Chinese translations (@ShadyWhite)

OverlayPlugin 0.18.0
This update adds more enmity data (thanks @qitana!), fixes damage shields, removes pointless errors about a missing browser feature (Error with Permissions-Policy header
) and fixes an error that sometimes occurred if the FFXIV plugin wasn't loaded.

OverlayPlugin 0.17.4
This update fixes a few annoying update issues and adds a few QoL improvements. The most important are that different target bars (HP bars) can now have different settings (i.e. text color, background, etc.) and overlays can be hidden automatically when you're not in combat.
If you don't get an update prompt, go to the Plugins tab in ACT, remove OverlayPlugin from the list, restart ACT, then click Get Plugins
button in the same tab and let it install OverlayPlugin. If you have Cactbot, make sure that it's below OverlayPlugin in your plugins list.
- Allow multiple target bar instances with different settings
- Added option to hide overlays outside combat
- Added RPR and SGE to the DPS preview
- Fixed several updater issues (including CEF file extension and the MSVCRT check)
- Fixed presets in WSServer tab
- Limited log memory usage (if the log gets too long old lines are deleted)
- Fixed a performance issue in WSServer
This update also fixes a bug in the 0.17.3 pre-release that prevented target bars from working.
Please let me know if you find any bugs, either here or on the FFXIV ACT Discord.

OverlayPlugin 0.17.2
Reminder: Endwalker broke the parser (just like every other FFXIV update) which means that you won't see any DPS numbers in ACT until the parser (FFIXV_ACT_Plugin) is updated as well.
Here are some fixes for Endwalker and a few minor but annoying bugs.
- Updated memory signatures for Endwalker (thanks @qitana!).
- Fixed cutscene detection & online status data for overlays.
- Fixed overlay rendering; it should be pixel perfect now.
- Fixed ngrok integration. The
Shared Overlay
tab in OverlayPlugin's WSServer should work again (thanks to @kaminaris for recommending a good WebSocket lib). - Added a mechanism to skip DPS updates if building them takes too long (usually only happens if your PC is overloaded). This should reduce ACT's CPU load if your PC is struggling.

OverlayPlugin 0.17.0
IMPORTANT: The recent update (as usual) will cause the parser to break. Until you get a parser update (this isn't one; it's for OverlayPlugin), most of the stuff in ACT will be broken.
This update is larger than the usual OverlayPlugin updates so I thought it'd be a good idea to get it out of the way before maintenance ends.
Also, WSServer's shared mode is currently broken due to changes on Ngrok's end but I'll have a fix available soon. If you don't know what that is, this most likely doesn't affect you.
- Added an option to display the target's name to the targetbar overlays. (thanks @quisquous!)
- Added several new prests: Skyline, NextUI, Deep Dungeon overlays (thanks to @DieMoe233, @pawel and @IAmLokken)
- Added several new fields to enmity data combatants (this allows overlays to check which mobs are targatable among other things). (thanks @aMehGit!)
- Updated Chromium to 95.0.4638

OverlayPlugin 0.16.6
- Memory signatures are updated to fix missing enmity/target data (thanks @qitana !)
getCombatants
now ignores case differences for player names (@panicstevenson)- Added additional Ember preset (@GoldenChrysus)
- Made some changes to DPS updates to hopefully reduce CPU usage a bit for larger parties
- Fixed FFXIV plugin detection to correctly detect DLLs with different endings (i.e.
_Korean.dll
) as well.
Please let me know if you find any bugs, either here or on the FFXIV ACT Discord.

OverlayPlugin 0.16.5
This release was long overdue. I'm sorry it took as long as it did.
- Memory signatures are updated which means that the targetbar and enmity overlays are working again (thanks @qitana for 5.4, @DieMoe233 for CN 5.3 and @Jaehyuk-Lee for KR 5.2)
- Added a new prompt that shows up if your config files are corrupted and offers you an option to wipe them (which will fix the corruption).
- Fixed an issue that caused weird issues if OverlayPlugin was loaded without or before the FFXIV plugin.
- Added a deadzone to the zoom slider which will hopefully fix #152 (weird scaling if the ACT window width was an odd number)
- Fixed automatically generated URLs in WSServer (the URLs were missing a slash at the end)
- Added Kagami to the presets
- Added actions which allow Trigg triggers to hide or show overlays (ping ngld on the ACT Discord if you want instructions)
- Overlays now have UUIDs which they can access through
OverlayPluginApi.overlayUuid
. - Updated Korean (@Jaehyuk-Lee), French (@moondark) and Chinese translations (@ShadyWhite)

OverlayPlugin 0.16.2
This release fixes a few recent issues.
- WSServer now automatically starts if it was running the last time the user closed ACT.
- Fixed an issue that prevented users from using Label overlays.
- Removed a few hard references to the FFXIV plugin which caused OverlayPlugin to fail if the FFXIV plugin wasn't available during initialisation (this happens if you're using ACT for other games or if you load OverlayPlugin before the FFXIV plugin)
- Improved error handling. If something goes wrong during startup, you should now see a proper error message.
- The WSServer tabs now have an intro that explains the difference between the two tabs.
- Fixed a few issues with the ngrok integration (#165)
- Fixed a few issues with the WSServer URL generator
- Fixed a typo in the ngrok message (#167, @quisquous)
- Updated Chinese translations (@ShadyWhite)
