Thanks for reporting! Bad news: the single faint line is why we need a full refresh, I've encountered this problem with various views before, as well... so upon dismissing the footnote window, a full refresh will fix this issue. |

Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
I noticed the Beta 5 notes include a footnote behavior setting, so this may already be resolved. If not, here's the issue.
When I enable "Highlight links", footnotes are highlighted in grey. When I tap one, the popup opens and the footnote turns solid black. After I close the popup, the black highlight leaves a faint e-ink remnant (a single faint line to the right of the footnote number). Turning to the next page and back clears it.
The grey highlight doesn't leave any ghosting, so the problem seems specific to the black "pressed" state.
Suggestion: Remove the highlight entirely once a footnote is tapped, since the popup already confirms the tap (or keep it grey instead of switching to black). This should avoid the ghosting without forcing a page refresh, which would cost extra battery and resources.
