stops ath9k_htc card from needing to be unplugged to work #37

More specifically, enable AP-style beaconing on mesh ifaces, honor
FIF_OTHER_BSS filter and change the hw capabilities to reflect mesh
support.

Coexistence with a virtual STA interface was tested as working fine.

XXX: Antonio disabled hw support for per-sta GTK in
d7d312c, so need to revert and test
that hw per-sta GTK actually works and the driver doesn't just fall back
to software after failing to set the keys in firmware.

Advertise support for management frame protection and per-sta GTK in
hardware.

The call to drv_get/set_tsf() was put on the workqueue to perform tsf
adjustments since that function might sleep. However it ended up inside
a spinlock, whose critical section must be atomic. Do tsf adjustment
outside the spinlock instead, and get rid of a warning.

Currently we configure harwdare and clock, only after
interface start. In this case, if we reload module or
reboot PC without configuring adapter, firmware will freeze.
There is no software way to reset adpter.

This patch add initial configuration and set it in
disabled state, to avoid this freeze. Behaviour of this patch
should be similar to: ifconfig wlan0 up; ifconfig wlan0 down.

Currently ath9k_htc will reboot firmware only if interface was
ever started. Which lead to the problem in case where interface
was never started but module need to be reloaded.

This patch will partially fix bug "ath9k_htc: Target is unresponsive"
qca/open-ath9k-htc-firmware#1

Reproduction case:
- plug adapter
- make sure nothing will touch it. Stop Networkmanager or blacklist mac address of this adapter.
- rmmod ath9k_htc; sleep 1; modprobe ath9k_htc

Sorry to intrude, but I am curious if the problem this patch addresses only occurs when using the open80211s stack, or if it is an underlying problem with ath9k_htc driver.

When running OpenWRT AA as a virtual x86 VMware guest with a TP-Link TL-WN821Nv3 USB radio, I have consistently had to disconnect/reconnect the USB device in VMware player to get radio0 to come up. I could try applying this patch to my own build tree for that x86 node, to see if it addresses the problem I had been experiencing.

If it does, should this patch then be submitted upstream, e.g. with openwrt-devel or ultimately linux-wireless?

It is already in linux-wireless.

It's also in linux-stable 3.10.y. I see #35 is now closed, why wasn't this ever pushed?

As the new x86 CPU bootup printout format code maintainer, I am
taking immediate action to improve and clean (and thus indulge
my OCD) the reporting of the cores when coming up online.

Fix padding to a right-hand alignment, cleanup code and bind
reporting width to the max number of supported CPUs on the
system, like this:

When operate harddisk and hit errors, md_set_badblocks is called after
scsi_restart_operations which already disabled the irq. but md_set_badblocks
will call write_sequnlock_irq and enable irq. so softirq can preempt the
current thread and that may cause a deadlock. I think this situation should
use write_sequnlock_irqsave/irqrestore instead.

This bug was introduce in commit  2e8ac30
(the first time rdev_set_badblock was call from interrupt context),
so this patch is appropriate for 3.5 and subsequent kernels.
