As per the .NET release cadence, .NET 7 will leave its support lifetime on May 14th 2024. From this point, it will be on the table to remove the net7.0 target from X10D. However, .NET 6 still has support until November 12th 2024 and so this legacy code needs to be maintained until this fall. For this reason, this issue is put on the backburner until such a time that it's feasible to remove this legacy code.

This issue is focused entirely on the net7.0 target for the library.
