omawake + omaania: wake words and a talking avatar for Omarchy 4 (community plugins)

Hi everyone,

I've been building two community plugins for Omarchy 4 and they're ready for people to try. Full disclosure: I'm the author of both, plus Ania Player and a small shop for custom wake words. Details on what's free and what isn't are below.

Wake words for Omarchy. After a wake word, omawake can:

action	what happens
ask	opens omarchy agent, Voxtype transcribes, the text is typed in and sent; follow-ups until "that's all"
dictate	Voxtype types at your cursor
command	runs one command, or matches a short phrase against your list / the built-in Omarchy pack
agent-prompt	omarchy agent prompt "<what you said>"

Several words run at once on one shared front-end (~8 % of one core, ~80 MB). It doesn't touch your Voxtype config or keybindings. Commands come only from your own config.toml, run without a shell, and are refused if the file is writable by others. Add one in a line: omawake add computer --say "open notes" -- obsidian; bring a wake word pack you already have with omawake models import pack.zip.

A talking, lip-synced avatar over your desktop that answers with your Omarchy default agent or your own OpenAI-compatible key. One-click setup from the bar, no sudo (the .deb is sha256-checked and unpacked into your home), window rules in a separate hypr/omaania.lua, lock + click-through, tray, optional briefing, optional biometric unlock (off by default, local only). With the optional ania-mcp (MIT), your agent can create and switch avatars: npx -y ania-mcp install <agent> (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor today).

What exists today

• Working wake words: ok_ania (Ania Player), hey_jarvis / hey_mycroft / alexa (openWakeWord, CC BY-NC-SA, downloaded from upstream after you accept the licence), or your own custom word.
• Coming: "Hey Omarchy", a free Apache-2.0 model, still in training. I'll update this thread when it's out. Help train it — donate your voice (2 min): https://aniamodels.shop/omarchy-voice
• "Glyph", a free retro terminal avatar, is omaania's default (also free on the Ania marketplace).

Privacy

Wake word detection is on-device in both plugins. omawake keeps no audio and has no telemetry. What you say after the wake word goes to the agent or API you configured.

Costs

• Plugins: free. ania-mcp: free (MIT). Ania Player: free.
• Optional: custom wake words at aniamodels.shop, US$4.98 (first one US$2.98 until Dec 30, 2026). Names are not exclusive; you can train it with your own voice (15+ samples). New avatars use paid credits, with the price shown before any spend.
