When modifying a custom attribute, instead of keeping the correct custom attribute type selected, it changes it to the last one (in alphabetical order) of the list, often resulting in also changing its type (due to human distraction), issue which we didn't have with the previous version.

Can you confirm which version of ONA you are running on? I'm trying to recreate that on demo.opennetadmin.com and I'm not able to so far. You might see if you are seeing it on the demo site as well.

we are running v19.0.1 just like on demo.opennetadmin.com where the issue I'm not able to reproduce.
Maybe it's related to the number of custom attributes, we have 22.

@molinarif02 There was a recent release (v19.0.2) that may address your issue. Please upgrade to that version and have a look. I had inadvertently thought that some changes were part of the previous release which may explain why my demo site was working but yours was not.
