Currently you have to hack the yaml, and figure out the proper numbers to put in the ColorRamp. Easiest way to do this currently is to choose the color you want in the lobby, quit, and copy the numbers from ~/.openra/settings.yaml. This is kindof stupid.

I prefer to close those "everything and more" issues instead. #4488

Just passing by, almost 9 years after the creation of this issue and 4,5 years after its last update.
Every related stuff is closed.
Is it still relevant / wanted ?

In multiplayer, each player chooses their own color.
In single player, colors are hardcoded (Allies/Soviets, GDI/Nod and so on) :

I think it would be really valuable for Skirmish (single player). I spend ages pregame setting colours for teams so one team has hues of red, another has hues of blue, etc.

I do believe this is for campaign missions and scripted maps (that have preset players). Not for generic skirmish/multiplayer maps.

Ideally, it should work for both cases.

I started to work on this.

Getting the palette to update mid-game and in the UI is a problem:

With #20699 merged it is now possible to implement this

It still does not work.
